CM Punk has clarified his opinions on Saudi Arabia, with it widely assumed the outspoken former WWE Champion would never wrestle for the Gulf State.

Punk has previously taken aim at The Miz in particular over WWE’s controversial working relationship with Saudi Arabia, telling Miz to ‘suck a blood money soaked d***’ in an online exchange several years back.

Taking to Instagram live, a fan asked Punk why he ‘hates coming to Saudi Arabia’ to which Punk responded, stating: “I’ve never been to Saudi, I don’t hate coming to Saudi.”

Punk has been outspoken on LGBTQ+ rights, with it assumed his staunch belief in gay and trans rights would be compromised should he ever wrestle in Saudi Arabia, with homosexual activity criminalised in the country. Whilst WWE stars can opt to not wrestle in the country, reports suggest there is internal pressure within WWE to work Saudi shows.

Questions have again been raised as to whether Punk will ever wrestle in the country, especially with the Royal Rumble slated to take place in Saudi Arabia in 2026. Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series 2023, Punk has not appeared on a WWE card in Saudi Arabia.
