Chris Jericho's WWE return has been heavily teased ahead of the first edition of Monday Night Raw of 2026, which will take place tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

During a rundown of Raw, the red brand's general manager Adam Pearce asked, "Who can break the walls down and claim the gold?" in a reference to Jericho's iconic WWE entrance theme.

Dave Meltzer noted in the F4WOnline Daily Update that WWE initiated the tease in the hopes of enticing fans to buy last-minute tickets for Raw. Whether Jericho will make his return on the show has not been confirmed, but the 55-year-old's AEW contract was believed to have expired at the end of 2025, and the former Undisputed Champion was expected to return to WWE. As of November, WWE's plans for Jericho reportedly called for him to embark upon a retirement run.

Across several WWE runs between 1999 and 2018, Chris Jericho became a one-time Undisputed Champion, three-time World Heavyweight Champion, nine-time Intercontinental Champion, two-time United States Champion, and multi-time tag team champion.

Chris Jericho initially performed for New Japan Pro-Wrestling leading up to and following his WWE exit, and he signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019. Jericho was the inaugural AEW World Champion, and he also held the ROH World Title on two occasions, as well as the FTW Championship.
