AEW’s Cash Wheeler was arrested in 2023 for aggravated assault with a firearm, throwing into doubt his status for the approaching AEW All In event later that same month. In May 2024, the case was formally dropped against Wheeler, with him not needed to stand trial for the alleged actions. The case was then officially closed, much to the relief of Wheeler.
PWInsider have now learned that Cash Wheeler’s legal record has been completely wiped clean, with an official ruling by Florida courts expunging his legal record on May 5 last month. Wheeler will now firmly be able to put the situation behind him. It is also explained by PWInsider that other talents in AEW had expressed a lot of sympathy towards Cash Wheeler, with the feeling being that he was wasting his time and money defending something that no one believed he did.
The multi-time AEW World Tag Team Champion spoke out last year about the situation, revealing that he actually considered retiring from professional wrestling in order to save his FTR partner Dax Harwood from any potential fallout.
