Backstage News On Shotzi's Upcoming MLW Debut

It was heavily hinted during Major League Wrestling's Azteca Lucha event that Shotzi would make her debut for MLW later this year, with a tank teaser in green font for June 26 stating that 'The warning SHOTZ will be fired'. It was noted MLW Summer of the Beasts will be held in New York City on June 26.

Fightful Select has since reported that Shotzi will indeed be at MLW Summer of the Beasts and she is expected to work a number of dates for Major League Wrestling.

Shotzi working for MLW comes amidst Salina De La Renta's plans to overhaul MLW's women's division. Plans for the women's division call for Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling talents to appear on almost every show and the promotion is also looking to bring in CMLL luchadoras. A big match MLW want to build to is Shotzi vs. Shoko Nakajima, who is the reigning MLW World Women's Featherweight Champion.

It was recently announced that WWE had decided not to renew Shotzi's contract and she will be a free agent in July. The 33-year-old had been a part of WWE since November 2019 and she is a former NXT Tag Team Champion.
