CM Punk cut another of his pipe bomb promos on the April 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, taking shots at Roman Reigns ahead of their WrestleMania 42 match, as well as TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, Vince McMahon, The Rock, Pat McAfee, and the price of WrestleMania tickets.
CM Punk may not have exactly followed the plan for the promo, though. There was a writer listed for Punk's comments at the beginning of Raw, with Fightful Select reporting that Ben Saccoccio was the writer of the segment. BodySlam has reported that Punk was given bullet points to speak on for the promo as opposed to a fully-fledged script, with it being noted that Punk used the platform to speak up about frustrations that others on the roster were experiencing.
PWInsider has also reported that WWE had a plan for the promo, but CM Punk "went out there and cut a different promo from the heart." Punk's promo reflected the frustration amongst several talents over WrestleMania 42 tickets being so high, that so many tickets are still available only a couple of weeks before the show, and that talent are only being granted two comp tickets for the night they are performing.
One talent also noted that Punk's comments leaned closely into how some in the WWE locker room felt about Pat McAfee's promo on SmackDown.
