At a time when WWE have not sold their pay-per-views on physical media for several years, international fans are beholden to the Netflix replay of those major events should they desire to rewatch a show.
One of the headline matches at the recent Night of Champions pay-per-view has been rendered borderline unwatchable on Netflix, however, as Bron Breakker's head has been blurred for much of his Steel Cage Match with Seth Rollins due to him bleeding during the match.
This includes blurring Breakker's face, as well as the back of his head, from the point Breakker is busted open, while the replay of Night of Champions also includes different camera angles from the original broadcast to avoid showing Breakker's bloody face. After Breakker begins bleeding, WWE entirely cuts to a crowd shot for a few seconds to avoid showing the Vision member.
According to PWInsider, the edits to the Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins Steel Cage Match were made by WWE. The company also replaced a "holy sh*t" chant during the match after Breakker went through a table following a superplex from Rollins, with it being replaced by a "This is awesome" chant.
Chants that include cursing have often been edited on Netflix replays of WWE pay-per-views and weekly programming. The removal of blood and cursing is not applied to every major WWE event, however, and many of the company's classic pay-per-views have been left unedited and have simply been listed with a higher age rating. One such example is WWE No Mercy 2002, where The Undertaker continues to be visibly covered in blood during his Hell in a Cell Match with Brock Lesnar on the Netflix version of the pay-per-view.
