Andrade El Idolo is free to sign with All Elite Wrestling, or any other promotion for that matter, following the resolution of the former United States Champion's legal issues with WWE.

Fightful Select has reported that Andrade's deal with WWE officially came to an end around December 12 and he is now a free agent. Andrade had been subject to a one-year non-compete clause following his WWE firing with cause in September 2025, which prevented him from wrestling for another company. Fightful noted, however, that RUSH introduced Andrade to an attorney who has worked closely with WWE for years and they helped get the non-compete clause waived.

Another issue following Andrade's WWE firing was that his work visa in the United States was effectively terminated as well. Andrade is back in the US for the time being, though, and his visa situation is being handled.

Since the resolution of his non-compete clause, Andrade has appeared for House of Glory in the United States, and he was revealed as the backer of United Empire on Monday, December 22. The former La Sombra will team with United Empire in their 10-man tag at Wrestle Kingdom 20.

AEW CEO Tony Khan told fans to "stay tuned to AEW" about Andrade's future with the promotion on the Worlds End media call. Andrade made his return to AEW on the October 1 episode of Dynamite following his WWE firing, but he hasn't appeared since then due to the WWE non-compete clause.

Andrade's second stint with WWE ran from January 2024 until September 2025. The 36-year-old was previously a part of AEW from the summer of 2021 until December 2023.
