AJ Lee Vs. Becky Lynch Still Scheduled For WWE WrestleMania 42 Despite Elimination Chamber Match

Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee for the Women's Intercontinental Championship will be taking place earlier than expected as it was announced on Monday Night Raw that Lee and Lynch will face off for the gold at Elimination Chamber on February 28.

The match was booked after AJ Lee made her return on Raw and goaded Lynch into accepting the match. AJ Lee made the save for Maxxine Dupri later in the show, only to be attacked from behind by Lynch when she was pushed into the ring post.

Despite the match being booked for Elimination Chamber, Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee will still be happening at WrestleMania 42, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"I was expecting this match at Mania, but I was told there's a reason it's here and the story goes until Mania. I go like, 'Oh I thought this was going to be at Mania.' And it's like, 'Don't worry, it all plays out to get there.' Whatever this plan is today probably won't be changed. This week, maybe next week, who knows?" Meltzer said.

WWE's plans for WrestleMania 42 were up in the air again this week after Triple H decided to change up what was scheduled due to WWE's disappointment over ticket sales for the two-night event. Lee vs. Lynch will seemingly be going ahead as originally planned, though.
