AEW Star Discussed For World Title Scene Push

All Elite Wrestling are seemingly looking to the future, with reports suggesting a young star is being discussed for a push towards the world title scene.

Per Fightful Select, current TNT Champion Kevin Knight is being considered for a push in the AEW World Championship scene, with Knight having made his intentions known on AEW TV.

Whilst Knight has been making verbal advances towards the title in recent weeks, the report states that Knight potentially going for the title could come ‘sooner rather than later, and that a match between Knight and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at Redemption on July 26 isn’t completely off the table.

Outside of the actual championship itself, there have reportedly been discussions within AEW of Knight feuding with other main event and world title-level talent as he looks to establish himself firmly in the upper echelons of the men's roster.

Since arriving from New Japan Pro-Wrestling in March 2025 - albeit under a dual contract with both NJPW and AEW - Knight has emerged as one of AEW’s brightest young stars, with Knight having already racked up TNT Championship and AEW World Trios Championship wins - the latter on two occasions with Hangman Page and Speedball Mike Bailey, and Bailey and Mistico.
