AEW Re-Signs Kota Ibushi

Kota Ibushi has signed a new deal with All Elite Wrestling, with the ‘Golden Star’ set to remain with the promotion until 2027.

The inaugural IWGP World Heavyweight Champion signed with AEW in late 2023 but has only wrestled a handful of times for the promotion due to ongoing injury and visa issues, with Ibushi returning to AEW in June 2025 after an absence of over a year and a half.

Ibushi is set to compete at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in London on August 24, and taking to Instagram* Kota revealed he has signed a new two-year deal with the promotion:

“This was incredible! A turning point in my life. I never thought I’d get to ride in a private jet! And I signed a two-year contract renewal. I still want to live, but I have no choice but to live. I can’t imagine myself still wrestling at 45. What else do I want? I don’t know. I have a dream to live and live this kind of pro wrestling! Back in the day when I was little.
