At the 2026 Money In The Bank PLE, Stephanie Vaquer dropped the Women’s World Championship in a triple threat match involving Liv Morgan & Becky Lynch, with many surprised at the outcome since Vaquer had only just secured the title last month at a house show in her come country of Chile.

In the aftermath, Vaquer has been ruled out of in-ring, though it wasn’t initially known whether this was a legit injury or part of an ongoing WWE storyline. Per a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is noted that Vaquer’s injury is in fact legitimate, and it is not part of any narrative being told by WWE. It is also noted that Vaquer is not believed to be out of action for long, and is expected back sooner rather than later.

Vaquer spent much of 2026 on the injury shelf, taking time off after WrestleMania 42 before returning shortly following SummerSlam. At the time, it was revealed that Vaquer had actually been cleared to return for some time, but WWE opted to wait on pulling the trigger on her comeback so as to not “waste” her return.
