Scorpio Sky’s AEW career has been a strange one full of injuries, title wins, months without being booked, and more. In recent months, he has been a member of the SkyFlight faction alongside the likes of Darius Martin, Dante Martin, Leila Grey, Zayda Steel, Christopher Daniels, and most recently Matt Sydal. However, Sky has rarely been booked to wrestle in AEW or ROH, competing just eight times in 2026. Sky has now spoken openly about both his lack of in-ring time and his potential future.
Speaking on Tagging In with Chris Harris, he opened up on his feelings about not wrestling often.
“It’s really like a mind f, because on the surface it could be a lot worse. You’re sitting at home, getting paid, and there are people that don’t have a place to live. There are people that are struggling and living paycheck to paycheck. They’re working 60 hours a week and they’re barely able to make ends meet. So when you think about it on that scale it’s like, ‘I can’t complain man.’ But then there’s other days when you’re just like, ‘Man, I grew up dreaming of doing this. I didn’t grow up dreaming of getting paid to not do it.’ It’s hard. That’s the nature of the business. I think a lot of wrestlers have gone through it, not just myself. There’s a lot of talent in all the companies and you’re never going to get used as often as you’d like to be used. So, you just kind of have to roll with it and try to put yourself in the best situation you can and be ready when your jersey number does get called.”
Sky went on to discuss his AEW deal amidst reports of his deal expiring soon.
“You know, I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I thought about what I’m going to do and what the future looks like. But I really try not to put too much into that. Right now, I’m focused on finishing this chapter the right way. I have a lot of stories and matches and moments left to be a part of, and I’m excited to step into those moments. So we’ll let tomorrow handle tomorrow and I’m just going to focus on today.”
