The future of Warner Bros. Discovery has been up in the air in recent times, what with the scheduled split of the company in mid-2026, and the recent reports of potential buyers interested in acquiring them. In recent weeks, Paramount have been among the reported bidders, with their second bid to buy rejected. Given that Paramount has a media rights agreement with TKO, some fans wondered about how a potential change in ownership could affect AEW’s standing with WBD.

Another partner of WWE & TKO, Netflix, could reportedly be entering the running of purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery too.

According to a report from Deadline, Netflix is looking at putting together a bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, stemming from news of Netflix seeking financial advice from advisory firm Moelis & Co, getting into contact with them to discuss an offer, despite Netflix’s co-CEO stating in the past that the company has no intention to own legacy media. If Netflix was to purchase WBD, it would own the platform which currently airs AEW both on television and streaming, while also being the platform which currently airs WWE programming internationally.
