Rusev has been off WWE programming since all the way back in July, last competing on the July 27 Monday Night RAW in a losing effort to Je’Von Evans. Fan footage after the match saw Rusev quickly roll out of the ring and walk quickly to the back, not selling the loss. It was soon noticed that Rusev had stated, “My hand went numb,” during the match and left speedily due to injury. An update on Rusev has been revealed.
According to Fightful Select, it is stated that the referee had asked Rusev if the match with Evans should be stopped, but Rusev responded that he wanted to finish the bout. However, the injury and feeling got worse as the match continued, which is why he rushed away from the ring, soon to be put under WWE’s concussion protocol.
It is further noted that Rusev was given time off post-match before returning to the Performance Center, where he also had an undisclosed illness. As of last week, Rusev was awaiting getting cleared for an in-ring return by WWE’s medical team, with the expectation that he will be back on WWE programming at some point during the next month.
