NXT General Manager Ava Departs WWE

Ava has been the head honcho on WWE’s developmental brand for the last two years, serving as NXT’s General Manager following an unsuccessful in-ring run as a heelish character. However, Anoa’i family member and daughter of The Rock is now leaving WWE, announcing as such on her Instagram account last night. 

"This past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT & subsequently WWE. Thank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey. While my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it's also a new turning point in my life.  It has been an honor & a privilege to be Ava."

On the back of Ava’s announcement, Fightful were sent a statement by WWE. 

"WWE thanks and applauds Simone Garcia Johnson for her stellar work as Ava and beyond. Her passion, dedication, and impact were felt across the entire NXT and WWE community. We wish her the very best in all future endeavors."

WWE’s first ever fourth-generation wrestler signed with promotion back in 2020, before making her in-ring debut in 2022 as a member of the cultish Schism faction, before later becoming an authority figure.
