WWE Friday Night SmackDown emanated from Knoxville, Tennessee last night on May 31, hosting two more qualifying matches for the upcoming men’s and women’s Money In The Bank ladder match ahead of the namesake premium live event, and two more names secured their spot in vying for the briefcase.
In the women’s match, rivals Naomi and Jade Cargill clashed in a triple threat match that also involved Nia Jax. It was Naomi who emerged victorious against the two larger competitors, qualifying for what will be her fifth Money In The Bank ladder match.
Over on the men’s side, an upset took place as Andrade defeated both United States Champion Jacob Fatu and former rival Carmelo Hayes to qualify for the match. This came after JC Mateo caused a distraction, causing Fatu to get thrown out of the ring, allowing Andrade to pick up the pieces.
It was reported this week that Triple H was not a fan of the Money In The Bank concept.
