When looking across the professional wrestling landscape, several high profile partnerships and strong relationships currently take place. For instance, WWE and TNA have a partnership, and the likes of AEW, CMLL, NJPW, and Stardom all share talent and feature plenty of crossover, including the big Forbidden Door PPV each year which showcases talent from all. A new partnership has now been announced between MLW and Stardom.
The two promotions have made the official announcement of a strategic partnership in order to create new opportunities and to produce good content for the fans.
“Major League Wrestling (hereinafter referred to as “MLW”) and Stardom (World Wonder Ring STARDOM, hereinafter referred to as “STARDOM” ) announced a strategic partnership today. Through this cooperation, two globally recognized organizations will join hands to create new opportunities for players, expand international development, and provide attractive content for fans around the world.
“This partnership focuses on player exchange and creative cooperation, and creates opportunities for players from both MLW and STARDOM to play in front of new stages and new spectators. This partnership reflects the common goal of providing world-class matches and further enhancing the global presence of professional wrestling.
“MLW CEO and owner Court Bauer commented, “STARDOM has built an outstanding player base and expressiveness in women’s professional wrestling. I have deep respect and admiration for the STARDOM game level and the players who embody STARDOM. I would like to thank President Okada and everyone at STARDOM for this partnership. This partnership creates fresh face-to-face meetings, new experiences, and meaningful opportunities for both players and fans.
“Taro Okada, CEO of STARDOM, commented, “MLW has established a firm position in the United States, one of the most developed markets in the professional wrestling business. In addition, we continue to accelerate global development through partnerships with organizations with history and tradition such as New Japan Pro Wrestling and CMLL. Through cooperation with MLW, STARDOM will further convey the charm of women’s professional wrestling culture from Japan to the United States as well as to various regions where MLW’s broadcasting and distribution networks are expanding. In addition, we intend to promote the improvement of the competition and further development on the world-class stage of both organizations by strengthening player exchanges and creating new opportunities to participate in the competition. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to MLW and President Court Bauer for their great efforts in making this partnership possible.
“This partnership will further promote the global development of MLW, which is broadcast in more than 60 countries, and strengthen STARDOM’s presence in North America. Details of this partnership will be announced in the coming weeks.”
