After retaining his WWE Title against Randy Orton in the main event of Backlash, it looks as if John Cena could be heading for a showdown with R-Truth.
Truth interfered in the match and tried to convince Orton not to hit Cena with the punt kick (and earning an RKO for his troubles), prior to Cena picking up the win. Then, at the post-Backlash press conference, Cena put Truth through a table.
According to Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net, Truth will face his so-called 'childhood hero' in two weeks.
That date would coincide with the next edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, which takes place on May 24. Cena is advertised for the show, which will emanate from Tampa, Florida.
It is unknown whether the match will be for Cena's WWE Title.
Truth and Cena last clashed in a televised singles match on the June 27, 2011 edition of Raw (where Truth was victorious in a tables match).
The seventeen-time world champion is currently in the midst of his final year as an in-ring WWE performer. According to Cena's father, John Cena Sr, his final match will take place in Boston this December.
