After years of being effectively frozen out of consideration, legendary tag team Demolition will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
During a recent appearance on the Busted Open Podcast, Ax (Bill Eadie) and Smash (Barry Darsow) discussed what they believe led to the company's change of heart.
"I think that, and Barry and I have both talked about it, if it wasn't for the fans, I really believe the pressure over the years, and a lot of our peers mentioned it, we really never thought we would be inducted. And I don't think we would have been under a different administration. But that's changed and our relationship with the company has changed drastically," Eadie said.
Though he didn't use any names, the 'different administration' refers to former WWE owner Vince McMahon. Eadie sued McMahon in 1990 over the rights to the Demolition characters, as well as unpaid royalties.
Demolition signed WWE Legends deals in 2025, paving the way for their Hall of Fame induction.
Also announced for this year's Hall of Fame are AJ Styles, Stephanie McMahon and Dennis Rodman (Celebrity Wing). Sid Vicious and Bad News Brown will be inducted as part of the Legacy class.
