Bryan Danielson has not wrestled since his defeat at WrestleDream 2024 that brought an end to his official ‘full-time’ professional wrestling career. In the aftermath, it was noted that Danielson had lingering neck issues, with it up in the air whether or not he would require neck surgery.
Danielson is still a part of the AEW family, appearing backstage at AEW Dynamite at times over the last few months, in addition with it being revealed that Tony Khan talks with him regarding creative ideas and more. However, there is no timeline or definitive answer when it comes to a return to the ring. Danielson has offered his latest update when speaking with JNMedia’s Jamal Niaz, when he was asked about whether a return could be on the cards.
“Yeah, but my neck is wrecked. So, it’s not ‘no chance’ but it’s risk versus reward, at this point. I want to be able to live comfortably with my wife and kids. One of the things our society has a real problem with is realizing when enough is enough and I’m very satisfied with my career and I think enough is enough.”
This sentiment echoes words previously stated by Danielson in recent months, prioritising his family and private life over ‘one more match’ or even a part-time schedule.
