In the lead up to AEW Double Or Nothing 2025, questions were raised over the fact that the PPV was not appearing on the Triller platform for both those in North America and overseas. This was revealed to be due to the growing financial troubles experienced by the Triller platform, as explained by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
"I've known this for a long, long time, Triller is in a real bad financial state. They didn't file their 10-Q, they're on the verge of being delisted, their stock is under $1 per share. So they need someone to buy them right now because they're in trouble. It probably plays into something having to do with this. If you're far behind, there is obviously the fear you may not get your money and I know other people who have done business there are fearing that right now.”
Although the Double Or Nothing replay was available on Triller, as was the PPV live for international fans, other platforms were advertised for those in the US and Canada. This may very well be set to continue, with AEW transitioning away from Triller, in North America at the very least. It is noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW has ceased its offerings of PPVs on Triller for the US and Canada, coming after the major drop in their share price. Triller is allegedly up for sale at a low number, though whoever purchases the company would also inherit all the debt too, creating an unsure future for the platform. It was revealed this week that the wXw promotion were also moving away from Triller.
